Andrew Lidgus has been involved in music in the Chicago area for over 20 years. He received a degree in Piano Performance from Sherwood Conservatory focusing on classical repertoire. He has used this training over the years to operate his own music school and work extensively with choral groups. He also has a degree in Fine Arts from Loyola University. His interest in the arts has also led him to create work in the collage medium.
Andrew has become recognized for his work with corporate entertainment and private events. In the last few years, he has become particularly interested in American Popular Song especially the music of Gershwin. As his interests developed, he has included more piano/vocal renditions in his repertoire. He performs these songs in cabaret style interpreting them as they were written, hoping to catch the composer's original sentiment.
He released a CD entitled Heart and Soul. Although he has recorded with vocalists and a choral group, this CD represents his first solo effort. The songs are mostly from American Popular Song repertoire and include both piano and piano/vocal arrangements.
