photo credit: Phil Onofrio | Peter Lerner Guitarist, Composer, Recording Artist Contemporary Jazz guitarist and composer Peter Lerner was raised in the multicultural, musically diverse, Hyde Park area of Chicago. Lerner’s earliest musical influence was his mother, Ruth, who played guitar and sang folk songs to him. By the age of eight, he had composed his first original song. Lerner has continued to write music, inspired in his early years by such artists as Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana, Stanley turrentine and George Benson. Lerner has played guitar for many theatrical productions, including “Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” with Donny Osmond and “Chorus Line” at Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook, IL. He has also played on tracks featuring B.B. King, Patti LaBelle, BB & Cee Cee Wynan and others. Commercial clients include the Oprah Winfrey Show, America’s Family Kitchen on PBS, Burger King, Bud Light, California State Lottery, ESPN, For Eyes, McDonald’s, Noxema, and Polaroid. |
